A lamp is a replicable lighting device that helps us have some artificial light during the night by producing light from electricity. There are a number of lamps available for one to choose, namely incandescent lamps, Halogen lamps, LED lamps, fluorescent lamps, discharge lamps among many others. Ceiling Lamp Fixtures
Incandescent lamps have a canopy fixture which is what is used to hold the light bulb in place on the ceiling. It can also have a long cord extending from the ceiling down from where the electric cables will be connected to the light bulb. Recessed Lamp Fixtures
This type of lamp fixture is mostly held right inside the ceiling. The architecture of the house will thus determine whether the house will have recessed lighting or not. These fixtures are best used for ambient lighting, where a large area or room is illuminated by use of the recessed lights. The lighting fixture normally makes the room very beautiful, as one cannot see the lamp but can see where the light is coming from.
Wall Lamp Fixtures
These have a long arm that protrudes from the wall, from where the lamp is held. Sconces are thus the best lamp fixtures that fit this description. They are used in most homes to provide task lighting as well as accent lighting. Areas in the home where sconces are mostly used include the living room and bathrooms. A number of great lighting variations can be achieved by using wall scaonces, such as lighting just one wall in an upward manner, or downward to draw attention to the floor.
Under-Cabinet Lamp Fixtures
These fixtures come in the form of small lamp strips or recessed lamps in the form of small discs. They find use mostly in the kitchen where tasks such as cutting and cleaning need to be illuminated without the shadows that come with overhead lighting.
Track Lamp Fixtures
In this type of lamp fixture, a long track or rail is used to house from three lamps to more on the ceiling. This offers a variety of deigns for the homeowner as the track can either be straight, surved or even in zig-zag form.
