Our friend, the contemporary table lamp

Ah, the good old table lamp. Isn’t it the best friend of all students? Well, for those who still like to go sit by their desk while they do their work, it is. The object has helped great minds accomplish tasks imperative to their success (preparing for quizzes, exams and making assignments). For others, it has helped them generate wonderful ideas for their workplace. We can’t deny it, we all need it.

It’s evolved over Time

While back in the old days, the contemporary table lamp used to be a simple stand which could hold a bulb, preferably a colored one at best, but that was all. Nowadays, everything has to be fancy if it doesn’t want an absolute rejection, specifically with décor. An odd speck anywhere in the room will keep distracting almost anyone until it has gone and is replaced by a more adjusting insignificant speck.

For this reason, our contemporary table lamps, in the effort to keep up with us, have evolved. They are available now, in many different sizes, shapes, designs and colors. Some still look like the old contemporary table lamps while others are just a version of a bedside lamp put on a desk. It’s all acceptable anyway. After all, our generation is attempting to evolve into more practical people. And what better way to do that than to put your bedside lamp on the work desk? I simply can’t think of anything at all. (Sarcasm intended).

Modern Designs

Our modern day contemporary table lamps are available in LED with touch activation, audio activation (based on a sharp clap) as well as the promising bulb, which is usually replaced by an energy saver instead. The contemporary drum shade table lamp is basically an assortment of absolutely obscure construction and then to put a straight or slightly angled shade on it. The bell shade design can be described in a similar way. Not that it’s bad, though. It’s just … relatively new. Other designs available are gooseneck and plank.

It’s All about How You like It

In short, your new table lamp is just like your old table lamp. It all comes down to how comfortable you are with it. As long as you’re contented with whatever way it is designed, it will definitely help you with your creativity and accomplishments that you make on your work desk.
