The games of lights and shadows is a modern trend in the decoration of interior spaces. To achieve this effect designers, use several resources.
The first is to use a lamp with a single luminaire with medium or low intensity, focusing on the table, leaving the rest of the space in twilight, thus creating a romantic atmosphere.
Another way of using it, is to separate environments, so you can place table lamps on some tables in the room, with a medium light intensity, highlighting the items placed either on the coffee table or the end table set, leaving the rest of the room without lighting or very low intensity general illumination.
And, the modern trend allows to place lamps that have designs on the lampshade, which, when ignited on a dark background, project new forms of lights and shadows achieving an innovative appearance in the decoration.
To these decorated lamps we are going to refer in this article.
The design of these table lamps, and the rest of the ones manufactured to create this effect, go to the artistic level so that their designs are unlimited and only the artists’ minds will tell us where to go.
These lamps alone become an object of decoration. During the day for its artistic appearance, either for the motifs painted on the screens, or for its sculptural forms. While during the nights, their art is reflected in the surroundings.
There are two ways to achieve this effect of lights and shadows only with the lamp, without appeal to different luminaires or playing with the light intensities.
Art painted on the screens.
The table lamp shades only produce their effect in these cases because the artist uses metallic paints on the screens. The characteristic of these types of paintings is that they prevent the passage of light, creating the effect of lights and shadows, and even reflecting silhouettes on the adjacent walls.
Lamps transformed into sculptures.
Another way is to turn table lamp shades only into real sculptures, realizing sculptural designs in their screens, for which they use different materials for their elaboration.
In this case the light can only leave the lamp through the free spaces left by the materials used, projecting the figures into adjacent objects or structural elements.
