They have however, become fashionable items in recent times.

Choosing something you like will make you happy whenever you see it and you will be glad to use it for a very long time. When you pick a wrong style however, it will not match other items you have in your house and it will not really suit you in the long run.

When buying antique lighting fixtures, it is important that you buy a fixture that is complete. If you buy a fixture that is not complete, maybe the glass shade is missing, you might find it difficult getting its glass shade. You will also not be able to use it for the purpose of lighting or decoration if you it is without the glass shade or any other missing item.

Where you want to use it

The place you want to use your antique lighting fixture might also determine which type you should buy. A chandelier or drop lighting fixture will go well with your dining room. This might however, not be suitable for your kitchen or bathroom.
